Operation Ref. PA 2024-22119/RER approved by Regional Council Resolution No. 1746 of 26/08/2024 and co-financed with resources from the European Social Fund+, the Ministry of Education and Merit, the Ministry of Universities and Research, and the Emilia-Romagna Region.

The proposed program aims to train new TECHNICIANS FOR SUSTAINABILITY AND CIRCULAR ECONOMY IN INDUSTRIAL PROCESSES (JUNIOR EXPERTS FOR SUSTAINABLE AND CIRCULAR ECONOMY), capable of supporting businesses in analyzing the sustainability and energy efficiency of their production processes and identifying potential improvement solutions, taking into account the economic, technological, and innovation dimensions related to new materials.

In alignment with the national specialization reference, Techniques for Environmental Safety Systems and Quality of Industrial Processes, the proposed program will train new TECHNICIANS FOR SUSTAINABILITY AND CIRCULAR ECONOMY IN INDUSTRIAL PROCESSES (JUNIOR EXPERTS FOR SUSTAINABLE AND CIRCULAR ECONOMY), capable of supporting businesses in managing the integrated system of quality, environmental safety, analyzing the sustainability and energy efficiency of their production processes, and identifying potential improvement solutions, taking into account the economic, technological, environmental, and social dimensions.

  • The Innovation Potential of Companies in Sustainable Development: Energy Performance;
  • Chemistry and New Materials, Skills for Sustainable Transition;
  • Environmental Innovation in Production Processes – LCA, Carbon Footprint, and Industrial Symbiosis;
  • Project Management Tools and Intervention Assessment;
  • Quality Management and Environmental Certification;
  • Product Redesign and New Business Models for New Services;
  • Activation and Engagement of Corporate Teams for Sustainable and Circular Innovation;
  • Social Impacts of Circular Models and Impact Business Models;
  • English Language;
  • Data Analysis and Information Processing;
  • Health and Safety at Work;
  • Environmental Legislation;
  • Green Data: Data Analysis and Sustainability;
  • Self-Entrepreneurship, Facilitated Finance, Open Innovation;
  • Sustainability Reports, ESG Indicators, and Socio-Economic and Environmental CSR Strategies;
  • Experience Exchange.

Access requirements

FORMAL ENTRY REQUIREMENTS:

Young people and adults, whether unemployed or employed, holding a high school diploma, and residing or domiciled in Emilia-Romagna, may apply. Access is also granted to those who have been admitted to the fifth year of secondary school programs, as well as those who do not have a high school diploma, subject to accreditation of competencies acquired through previous education, training, and work experiences.

SUBSTANTIAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Basic literacy and arithmetic-mathematical skills;
  • Scientific and technological competencies in physics and chemistry.

Considering that some modules will be conducted remotely and in English, competence in PC usage and English at level B2 is required.

SELECTION TESTS:

The selection process will include:

  • A multiple-choice test to assess prior knowledge and skills, particularly in literacy and arithmetic-mathematical skills, computer literacy, English language, chemistry, and physics;
  • An interview to assess motivation and alignment of personal study/work history with the professional profile being trained, problem-solving abilities, and the ability to understand and express oneself in English (the course will involve international experts. Therefore, a good knowledge of English is required).

The test will account for 50% of the evaluation, and the interview will represent the remaining 50%.

At the end of the selection process, a ranking will be drawn up. The top 20 candidates on the list will be admitted to the course.

International experts involved

The University of Oulu (Finland), a partner in the first pilot edition, will contribute to the implementation of the following modules: Introduction to Circular and Sustainable Economy, Environmental Innovation in Production Processes – LCA, Carbon Footprint, and Industrial Symbiosis

ANOIS: An Irish company recognized for its expertise in design for remanufacturing and disassembly, and new business models for the circular economy. It serves as a consultant to international organizations such as UNIDO.

AEVOLUTION: A German consulting firm, will collaborate in teaching the module on Environmental Innovation in Production Processes, with a particular focus on Life Cycle Thinking & Analysis, and the module on “Activation and Engagement of Corporate Teams for Circular Innovation.”
